Lego Yarn Ball Winder
Whether you are learning to cable or learning to make a button hole - this is a fantastic site with tons of helpful videos.
I recently had a question from a fellow knitter about cable knitting. This video shows you the simplest version and is a great starting point - showing a 2/2 cross. As soon as you learn the method you can easily change the number of stitches to cross (width of the cable), hold them to the back or front (making it twist right or left), and follow any pattern. Good luck everythingisyes!

I find the crochet/knit/animation deal pretty fascinating!
The Star Stitch
Allrighty - so unsuccessful pattern numero dos last night on the dish cloth front! Shoot! I tried and tried to follow this ‘starburst’ pattern last night - I probably started over 4 times b/c it looked nothing like the picture. God bless whoever posted that pattern because it is beautiful… but it doesn’t seem to be written clearly enough for a newbie (er… dummy) like me! Watch the video - you don’t draw up two loops in the same stitch to make a star… it has to be drawn up in separate stitches. Crochet… you are killing me so much fun!
Tonight, I will try again - and follow the video. Thank you YouTube.
Grandmommy this is for you!
We also visited my grandmother on our way back this weekend and we had a lot of fun seeing her. She has been crocheting as long as I can remember… and in the midst of our visit she asked me a crochet question (note: I find this TOTALLY backwards since she knows way more than me).
Anyhow, she asked if I knew how to do a ‘popcorn stitch’. I did not before, but this quick tutorial video shows you how it works and makes the stitch seem pretty easy! (Grandmommy - hopefully, Aunt B will show this to you and you’ll be making popcorn stitches in no time)
