It occurred to me
I’ve been doing a horrible job in telling you about my project updates lately… here goes nothing -
- Finished up two crocheted rings (you saw pics of one this am)
- Finished up another Beaded Bracelet - this one for the etsy shop… and I really want to keep it :)
- Finished up the Lacy Girl Scarf for my friend Lindsey, it was the LAST of her order :) YAY
- Finished up another tiered necklace for Abby, it was the LAST of her order too!
Sooo… now it is finally time to mail out a few orders - four to be exact! But I am really excited about them all being complete in time for Thanksgiving…. per client requests :).
Button Headband -
this is just like my first one… for the same friend who ordered the adorable booties :) I’m almost done with her other item too - a lacy girl scarf!
SSK vs. K2 tbl
Random tidbit here…. In a lot of patterns people use these two methods interchangeably: SSK (slip slip knit) and K2 tbl (knit 2 through back loop). Both are methods of decreasing, both give you a leaning stitch like so: \ .
However, to me they are not equivalent. Typically I am using one of these stitches at the same time as I would use a K2tog (which would give you a leaning stitch in the other direction: /). K2tog is a very smooth decrease - almost seamless where to the naked eye you can’t tell that rows are converging.
Hence - the question is, which decrease is smoother for the other direction? My opinion is the SSK. It is a little more tedious and takes a bit more time… but it is such a cleaner look!
I know this is random :) but it was relevant to the scarf I’m working on now… Lacy Girl Scarf. Hope someone else finds it helpful!
My new etsy banner to go along with the blog redesign…. It is taking some time, but I’m getting there!
PS- Also printed my business cards and purchase tags yesterday… they turned out great. Also finished knitting the scarves for my friend Shannon, just a few finishing details. I’ll have more pictures up soon!
Pleasant Interruption
As ya’ll know I’m starting to work on my inventory for the etsy shop… however I’ve gotten a few interruptions! Three requests in this week from friends/colleagues for things they would like me to make… another Clemson bag, the Loopy Scarf, and the Lacy Girl Scarf. Woohooo :) .
Guess my inventory is going to be put on the slight back burner for a week or so… but at least it is for a good reason!!
