Today

Well today, I am very excited. Today I am headed up near Philly to visit one of my best friends for the weekend :). YAY girls weekend! To celebrate - I made sure to finish my princeton lace scarf and new zig zag lacy scarf to bring with me :). I can’t even remember if I told ya’ll I was making them… but…. I bought this lovely hand painted 100% merino yarn the other week for each. The princeton lace is a variegated grey/charcoal and the zig zag is this gorgeous royal/navy blue. I’ll be in the airport a bunch, so guess that means I’ll be working on lots of Christmas presents! I’ve que’d posts for the weekend, but I’ll have to do a show and tell when I get back :)

Had fun this weekend with photos - between Thanksgiving and knitting and not working… it has been a fabulous weekend.  Also - have a few new items ready to load to my shop for Christmas time!

More experiments

It was a good weekend for my knit/crochet kinda life - rainy and yucky out… which means I got a lot done.  Among finishing a zig zag lace scarf and new graduated moss stitch scarflette, I also made another crochet bracelet (which I haven’t decided yet if I’m ripping out and starting over again) AND a pair of crocheted earrings with pearl beads in them.

The earrings I mentioned that I designed awhile back, and finally got to actually test the final pattern last night.  After finishing them up, I decided they were too flimsy and there had to be a way to stiffen them (so they’d hang correctly).

Wa la! Glue.  Glue?  Yes, GLUE.  I read about this technique where you add equal parts of water and glue together…. supposedly it is going to work.  Right now they are pinned to a cardboard box lined with wax paper…. We will just have to see how this little experiment turns out.  Needless to say it was a lovely weekend.
