My new etsy banner to go along with the blog redesign…. It is taking some time, but I’m getting there!
PS- Also printed my business cards and purchase tags yesterday… they turned out great. Also finished knitting the scarves for my friend Shannon, just a few finishing details. I’ll have more pictures up soon!
Sometimes I really think I've lost my mind...
For about a week now I’ve been working on another Princeton Laces scarf out of a lace weight yarn and size 4 needles (i.e. 3.5mm). I have to tell you - I am in love with this scarf, I may be upset when/if someone buys it on Etsy :) haha. Oh well - anyhow, tiny yarn and needles make for more time consuming work.
I’ve also started this weekend on the Loopy scarf for my friend Shannon. This one is knit with worsted weight yarn and massive needles size 17 (i.e. 12.75mm). It is a quick knit because of that and I’ll probably finish it by tomorrow.
Now- weighing these two situations, a normal person would choose the quick knit and larger needles. I do NOT. I wanted to throw that loopy scarf across the room last night - not because it isn’t pretty or turning out right - but simply becuase those big needles were getting on my nerves. Hence this morning the loopy scarf and big needles came on the train… where I have no other options for projects to knit :) haha.
Turns out I enjoy painstaking and laborious projects with tiny needles…. though probably no one but me is surprised by that :) haha.
Pleasant Interruption
As ya’ll know I’m starting to work on my inventory for the etsy shop… however I’ve gotten a few interruptions! Three requests in this week from friends/colleagues for things they would like me to make… another Clemson bag, the Loopy Scarf, and the Lacy Girl Scarf. Woohooo :) .
Guess my inventory is going to be put on the slight back burner for a week or so… but at least it is for a good reason!!
Catch up
14+ hours in the car this weekend= LOTS to blog about this week.
I was able to finish up:
- The button headband… super cute
- A green loopy scarf… trendy and will be nice in the fall
- A new design pattern, which was a very cool process… I followed the directions on knitty that I posted this weekend. I can’t wait to show my charts and iterations of this diamond pattern - I had no idea I could do this kind of thing!
I also got started on another cream colored scarf with lace - I have no clue what or who it is for, but hey it kept me occupied.
Hope ya’ll had a good weekend… I’m going to be playing catch up on here, but know that there will be lots of upcoming material :)
Oh crap
I’m gonna be in the car 14 hours this weekend…. AND the project I’d planned to work on… I could not find the wool for yesterday :( and we are leaving now :( boo hiss. (Sorry Julie, your purse is getting pushed back…again… promise it will be done before you need it this fall)
Needless to say, going to finish up the button headband, try a new loopy scarf pattern with some stash yarn - and work on designing my own stuff. Hopefully it will turn out well…. but I’m a little miffed! I’ve que’d some things for you, but be back Sunday! Will the summer weddings ever end?
