Finishing the masterpiece… hah… well maybe not, BUT it feels like one to me :)

I started out by sewing the lining and outer wool facade together (with the right sides inside), leaving a hole to turn the garment ride side out.  I did this for both the back and front of the dress.

Next I sewed the back and front of the dress together and then did a top stitching around the bottom.  I made sure to close off those small openings that had been left from originally sewing the lining.  I also top stitched around the neck and arms!

Once the basic construction was pretty much finished, I moved on to embellishing.  I took leftover strips of the lining (just a basic beige muslin) and made little rosettes.  I then added little faux pearls as the center of each flower!

I also had to come up with a way to close off my straps.  The more proper way would be buttons… however ya’ll know I’m kind of attracted to velcro lately.  I swear velcro is just too easy to use and quite practical when the dress is for an 11 week old!!!!!

I really couldn’t be more proud of the results!

Lia is going to be so stylish in this one!!
