January 18
I’m really loving making clothes for Miss Lia (which for the record is pronounced like Lee-ah, we just used the Italian spelling).  Anyhow, I took a jumper we had for her as the starting point for a new dress!

Making the pattern was pretty simple.  I folded some lovely computer paper in half, laid the dress on top, and traced it out (going about an inch outside to allow for seams).

I also made the shoulder straps longer.  My idea was to have one side sewn together as normal, and the other side as a fold over flap.

On the pattern I just folded down the one side.
Next it was time to cut!  I did two of the wool, and two of the lining - just to have  a nice finish.

More to come on finishing up the dress soon…
