Ta Da! Legging photos :)
Sewing Project: Leggings
I recently used the tutorial on MADE for kids to make a pair of leggings for myself!
Started out tracing a pair of leggings I already own.
Created panels for the front and the back.
Got to sewing - crotch first, then outer side of the legs.
Before sewing the inner legs, I went ahead and did the hemming! Yay for thinking ahead :)
At this point I also added a small band of elastic so that the finished product would have ruching on the legs.
A quick final sew up the center part of the legs and finished! Such an easy project to work on - photos of the finished product to come :)
DIY - Cookie Decorating!
I recently planned a Bridal Tea shower for my best friend Lauren. I’ve done a bit of cookie decorating in the past, but these were really fun!
I used a basic sugar cookie recipe and fun cookie cutters inspired by a tea. I then made a batch of royal icing - following the Martha Stewart version. When you make it, the royal icing is white and stiff. I used food coloring to make the different colors of this stiff version. I then added about half of a lemon’s juice to the remaining white to use it as flooding.
I used the colors to edge out all of the cookies and once they were dry went back and added in the white flooding. I then used a small paint brush (only for cooking, ha) to spread out the flooding.
I also went back and did a little bit of decorating in the various colors. Once that was dry, I finally added the polka dots you see in the first photo! Such a fun project and they made great favors for the shower.
